50% Pinot Noir/50% Gamay. The 2023 Rouillon shows bright, floral tart plum, raspberry and wild strawberry aromas with citrus and earth. The palate is ripe and sappy with wild strawberry, plum skin, earth and spice. The finish is long with citrus and mineral flavors and a bit of tannin. Irresistible now, this should be very interesting after a few years in the cellar.

Clos de Tue-Boeuf are making some of the central Loire’s best wines and certainly most delicious wines and have done for many years. Thierry started in about 1990 and we have been working with them since 2008.
In the early-nineties, Jean-Marie and Thierry Puzelat took over their family domaine in Cheverny, converted the farming to organic, and began making wines with native yeast and low or no sulphur additions. Three decades later and Clos du Tue-Boeuf is the definitive natural wine estate in the Loire Valley, if not all of France.
The Puzelats have perfected their wine-making over many many years and as such their wines avoid the pitfalls that natural methods can bring; these wines represent the very best of their genre, they are vibrant, fresh and pure, displaying tension, definition and minerality – they are simply delicious to drink!
