Domaine Durrmann was established in 1979 with a mere 1.5Ht undervine, inherited from André Durrmann’s grandfather who worked as a shoemaker, to supplement his vinous & mixed farming pursuits. The absence of entrenched winemaking customs may have posed initial challenges to Anna & André Durrmann, but it also gifted them the freedom to forge a path unbound by convention.
Enter Yann Durrmann — raised among the vines & now guiding the Domaine with quiet conviction. In a region celebrated for its early organic trailblazers, Yann’s philosophy moves well beyond certification. His approach is deeply ecological, attuned to the subtleties of nature rather than the checklists of regulation. Since 2007, vinification has been free of additives, driven by a steady pursuit of purity & transparency. Today, the estate stretches across 10 hectares & 30 distinct lieux-dits, each parcel a fragment of Andlau’s mosaic — a patchwork of soils & slopes that speak in their own dialects of terroir.
