Les Pieds sur Terre came to life in 2014, when 26 year old Valentin Morel took over the families vineyards and winery in Poligny.
He went and studied agriculture and winemaking in Alsace, which was to become one of the best decisions Valentin made. Whilst the oenology school in Beaune is deemed to be the best in France, in Alsace he found that the teachings were far more advanced when it came to organic agriculture, both ideas and principles, and had been for some years.
Albinos 2020 is a directly pressed Poulsard elevaged in barrel for 12 months. Rocky, flinty, blood orange, strawberry gum. Great texture, silken almost. Lithe and with a fine acid line. It opens to becoming slippery and fluid, the fruit changing. Pops of citrus, so intriguing. There’s layers, has a great balance of acidity with some texture. It builds, loves oxygen and a wine I would recommend decanting (this can be said for all of these actually) Think textured White with Poulsard citrus lift.
