Parisian native Romain le Bars moved to the Southern Rhone / Gard region in 2012 to work with legendary winemaker Eric Pfifferling. He spent the subsequent 7 years working under Eric at Domaine L’Anglore and whilst influenced by this great winemaker, Romain has cemented himself as now producing some of the best wines in the region, alongside his mentor.
Beginning in 2018, whilst still working at L’Anglore, with the purchase of 1.2 hectare parcel of vines in Tavel and vinifying his first vintage in his garage. Today his vineyard holdings consist of a little over 9 hectares in Tavel, Lirac and surrounds, and a winery on the outskirts of Tavel.
The vineyards are organically farmed, Romain firmly focused on soil health.
Vinifications are carbonic maceration and direct pressing, fermentations are spontaneous. All wines are un-fined and unfiltered, if required sulphur is added at bottling, 1-2 parts, for stability during transport.
