44% Pinot Noir, 28% Gamay Noir, 28% Savagnin. Pinot Noir and Gamay processed separately, both 50% de stemmed and 50% whole bunch. Savagnin is 100% de stemmed and fermented in open top vessel. Pressed and transferred to old French barrels on fine lees to age for 10 months. Light chillable Red Wine, The nose leaps out of the glass, white floral note and fruits of the forest. The palate is plush and bright with fine boney tannins to add savoury structure.
Founded in 2017 by James Madden, Scintilla is a small, low-intervention winery based in Basket Range in the Adelaide Hills. After years working as a sommelier and gaining experience with some of Australia’s most exciting natural winemakers, James set out to make wines that are pure, expressive and full of character.
Working exclusively with organically and biodynamically farmed fruit, all grapes are hand-harvested and fermented with indigenous yeasts, with no additions, fining or filtration. His wines are vibrant, energetic and beautifully balanced, ranging from fresh, saline whites to delicate, aromatic reds and more complex, oxidative styles. Thoughtful, honest wines that continue to impress with every vintage.
