Organic Fiano from Campania in southern Italy. The grapes spend 2 days on skins creating a wine that is rich, waxy and dried stone-fruited, but also very zesty with a refreshing finish.

After visiting Frank Cornelissen in Sicily in the early 2000’s, to soon become his biggest customer in Italy, they forged a strong friendship and together started Ognostro. This was just vinifying small parcels of Aglianico grown in the traditional Taurasi zone. The wine style is totally different, it sees no oak and has a stunning elegance while retaining the character of Aglianico.
‘Ognostro’ is a local term for wine in the Neapolitan dialect and literally translates to ‘ink’. Whilst they primarily source Aglianico grapes from low yielding vineyards in Campania, they also works with some Fiano grapes from the vineyards owned in the Municipality of Montemarano (Taurasi Zone). 2018 was the first year when the grapes were not driven to Cornelissen’s cantina on Etna and instead, Marco established his own mini winery in his garage in downtown Milan. There are only a a couple thousand bottles produced from any one vintage each year.
